Registered Nurse Unit Based Educator Surgical Services Full Time Days

About The Job:

This position is responsible for promoting improved patient care outcomes through coordinating effective orientation education evaluation and ongoing development of all support technical and nursing colleagues. This is accomplished through a combination of direct patient care and unit based education responsibilities (approximately 50/50). This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards.

Hours:

• Full Time

• Day Shift

• Call rotation as assigned by unit

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of a program in professional nursing required

• Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa or qualified multi-state license required.

• BSN required or complete within 5 years.

• Certification in area of practice (i.e. CCRN) (from the Magnet approved certifications list) preferred.

• Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider American Heart Association; or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current.

• Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse required within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years. status.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years professional nursing experience required.

Demonstrates expertise in all aspects of the nursing care setting.
