Our offerings include High-Risk Pregnancy Care Level II Special Care Nursery with a partnership with the Neonatal Practitioner Team from Seattle Childrens Hospital 24-hr OB Hospitalists Childbirth and Family Education Classes Breastfeeding support both inpatient and outpatient Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) and a volunteer doula program to provide physical and emotional support to pregnant patients both before and after childbirth.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Special Care Nursery RN you will provide care to critically ill neonates and preemies as young as 32 weeks gestation. The Special Care Nursery RN must be able to attend both low and high risk deliveries when needed and be able to assist with stabilization and transport of infants born prior to 32 weeks gestation. This position will also be responsible for delivering care to postpartum women and newborns on a rotating basis. Medical Center Special Care Nursery is Level IINICU.

Every day you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized comprehensive care making critical assessments performing skilled procedures and meticulously implementing patient care plans. Youll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.

  • Adheres to the departments and hospitals policies and procedures including safety risk management and regulatory standards. Keeps abreast of trends developments and regulatory requirements impacting matters within designated scope of responsibility.
  • Administers oversees and documents the adminstration of medications (e.g. topically orally intramuscularly subcutaneously and intravenously) as ordered by the healchare practitioner and in accordance with hospital poilicy.
  • Demonstrates competent professional practice and engages in opportunities for professional growth. Demonstrates self accountability to meet stated deadlines for all mandatory requirements
  • Assess and cares for post-partum and newborn patients
  • Identifies full-term infants at risk for complications and provides appropriate care to the full-term infant with complications
