Overview:

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Critical Care Stepdown Unit - PVSU (Progressive Ventilator Stepdown Unit)

Hours/Shift: Full Time (36 hr/week) Nights

Overview:

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives focuses on and simplifies workflow and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

Department Overview:

The PVSU at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is an 16 bed step-down unit specializing in treatment of patients on mechanical ventilators. Most patients admitted to PVSU come from an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). PVSU focuses on maximizing the rehabilitation while continuing to treat the cause of the illness. This goal is accomplished through intensive physical therapy respiratory care and mental has a nurse/patient ratio of 3:1 based upon nursing acuity.

Certification/Licensure

  • Registered nursing License (Required)

  • BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

  • 18 months of relevant RN experience

We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $47.42 - $68.63 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials standby/on-call pay overtime shift premiums extra-shift incentives or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications experience location market conditions and business needs.
