Job Summary
HERES WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Diploma of Nursing OR Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required;
BSN preferred.
2 Years experience as a registered nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse committee chair preceptor) Required
Three (3) or more years current experience as an ICU nurse is strongly preferred.
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
BCLS-Basic Cardiac Life Support Prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support Within 90 days of hire required
CPI-Crisis Prevention Interventionwithin 30 days required
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Lead day-to-day operations of the ICU ensuring safe staffing appropriate patient assignments and efficient patient flow in a high-acuity environment
Partner with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and maintain smooth unit operations
Monitor quality safety and throughput metrics; drive improvements aligned with organizational goals
Promote a patient- and family-centered experience by rounding regularly and addressing concerns
Support staff in delivering safe evidence-based care for critically ill patients including complex therapies and equipment
Reinforce safety standards infection prevention and regulatory compliance in daily practice
Coach mentor and support nursing staff at the bedside to strengthen clinical skills and confidence in complex ICU care
Lead onboarding orientation and ongoing development of team members
Provide real-time feedback recognition and performance guidance to drive engagement and retention
Foster a collaborative accountable team culture focused on excellence communication and continuous improvement
Patient Care: Providing safe high-quality care to critically ill patients

WORK LOCATION: Texas Health Frisco is located at 12400 Dallas Parkway Frisco TX 75033
WORK SCHEDULE: Full time for 40 hours; typically 7:00AM-7:00PM with rotating weekends and holiday requirements
INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (ICU) DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS:
Growing ICU with expanding critical care services and increasing patient acuity
14-bed mixed-acuity unit with flexibility to support step-down level patients based on need
Diverse high-acuity patient population including cardiac respiratory failure post-arrest surgical and complex medical cases
Advanced therapies and technologies including CRRT balloon pump support Impella and ventilator management
Collaborative team-based environment with strong interdisciplinary support
Focus on quality safety and continuous improvement in patient outcomes
