Description:

POSITION PURPOSE

  • Registered Nurse opportunity at Trinity Health Livingston (Brighton MI) as a member of the Rapid Response / SWAT Team.

  • The RRT / SWAT RN evaluates and responds to patients with clinical deterioration in accordance with established policies and procedures. Supports patient stabilization and the delivery of medical care as directed by the medical staff and hospital standards.

  • Opened in 2026 Trinity Health Livingston Hospital is a modern acute care facility in Brighton that provides advanced inpatient services including critical care and ICU capabilities to patients throughout Livingston County and surrounding communities.

  • Full-Time benefited position. Scheduled 12 hour day shift (.9 FTE / 36 hours per week) with a weekend and holiday rotation.

MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensure: Current Michigan Nursing License

  • Education: Graduation from accredited nursing program (Effective January 1 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.)

  • Training and Experience: Two or more years recent varied nursing experience may include ICU Critical Care and Emergency units.

  • Certification: Current BLS and ACLS completion.

  • Job Knowledge: Expertise in peripheral IV placement and able to assess appropriate critical events in patients that meet Rapid Response criteria.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Admissions Enter and initiate admission orders and admission profile.

  • Documentation Document in Epic and other supplemental electronic/paper forms.

  • IV Therapy Assess insert and monitor IV issues as consulted.

  • Vascular Access Evaluate access and perform dressing changes for ports and PICC lines as consulted.

  • Rapid Response Evaluate assess stabilize and monitor patients condition during an acute medical emergency on Inpatient Medical/Surgical units Behavior Medicine and Womens Center etc.

  • Communication Organize information to be communicated to the patients physician.

  • Education Educates and support staff in regard to Rapid Response Team policy and procedure.

  • Care Coordination Coordinates complex medical care.

  • Patient Transfer Assist with patient transfer to a higher level of care.

  • Collaboration Demonstrates excellent communication skills with colleagues including but not limited to physicians nurses clinical nutritionists pharmacy and case managers.

  • Patient Experience Keeps patient experience a priority when providing care.

  • Knowledge Maintains clinical knowledge and competency necessary to support critical care and rapid response functions.
