Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse to provide care for patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and treatment. The unit cares for a mixed-acuity patient population including PCU Medical-Surgical Telemetry post-surgical trauma orthopedic and medical patients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
  • Care for patients requiring telemetry and progressive care services
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias
  • Administer medications blood products and specialty infusions
  • Manage heparin protocols insulin drips and cardiac drips
  • Provide care for patients with respiratory neurological cardiac renal surgical and trauma-related conditions
  • Manage central lines PICC lines ports feeding tubes chest tubes and other specialized devices
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication using established protocols
  • Adhere to infection prevention patient safety and quality standards
