Job Summary

Registered Nurse (RN) Pre-Op Clearwater FL

A healthcare organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Pre-Operative team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality patient-centered care to surgical patients while supporting positive clinical outcomes and maintaining professional nursing standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized patient care using the nursing process and established clinical standards

  • Provide direct nursing care to pre-operative patients and ensure readiness for surgical procedures

  • Monitor patient conditions and promptly identify and respond to changes in status

  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and organizational policies

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe and effective patient care

  • Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other healthcare team members

  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures medications and post-operative expectations

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation

  • Serve as a preceptor and charge nurse when assigned

  • Demonstrate professional accountability and commitment to evidence-based nursing practice

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification if required by the department

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

  • Minimum of 18 months of Registered Nurse experience in an acute care or specialty setting

  • Strong clinical assessment communication and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
