Registered Nurse (RN) Med/Surg Telemetry

Location: Rochester New York
Shift: Day Shift 3x12-Hour Shifts
Schedule: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for an Acute Stroke Unit assignment at a tertiary care hospital in Rochester New York. This role is ideal for nurses with strong Med/Surg and telemetry experience who are comfortable managing acute stroke and neurological patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent assessment skills telemetry monitoring experience and the ability to manage high patient acuity assignments independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients
  • Care for acute stroke and neurological patient populations
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms
  • Perform patient assessments and monitor for neurological changes
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
  • Collaborate with physicians stroke teams and interdisciplinary healthcare staff
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the Epic EMR system
  • Respond appropriately to rapid response and emergency situations
  • Support patient safety infection prevention and quality care initiatives
  • Float to similar units as required
Requirements
  • Active New York RN License required at time of submission
  • Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Current ACLS Certification required
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current NIHSS Certification required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Strong telemetry and stroke care experience preferred
