Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth 1301 Pennsylvania Ave Fort Worth TX 76104
Work hours: Full-time nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) 36 hours per week with rotating weekends and holidays required.

- The General Surgical Nurse provides care to a wide variety of post op patients including: complex gastro-intestinal and abdominal surgeries and plastics related wound care cases requiring ostomy drain and wound vac management.

- Level I Trauma Center
Heres What You Need
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required
- BSN preferred
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
- BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- CPI Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
- 1-year experience as a registered nurse required or the completion of an RN Residency program
- 2 years Med Surg experience as an RN in acute care setting preferred
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift inter-hospital and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
