2B ICU is a 19-bed neuro ICU. Serving CVA neurosurgical carotid surgery and carotid stent patients. This unit supports our comprehensive stroke program if the patient needs critical care addition the unit cares for surgical post-op cardiac interventions sepsis general surgery and complex care ICU patients.
Shift: Full-Time Days.
Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.
The Registered Nurse (RN) is an exemplar for compassion acceptance respect and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.
As a clinical nurse this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating ensuring and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds assessments and treatments; facilitating admission transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable etc.
Minimum Education Experience Training and Licensures Required:
Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
Bachelors or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelors degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
Basic Life Support.
ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
