Registered Nurse (RN) La Jolla CA

A healthcare organization is seeking a compassionate and skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join its womens health team. This opportunity is ideal for nursing professionals who are passionate about supporting mothers and newborns while delivering exceptional patient-centered care throughout the childbirth experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assess monitor and evaluate maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery

  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs

  • Administer medications treatments and therapies as prescribed

  • Assist with labor management delivery procedures and obstetric emergencies

  • Monitor patient progress and communicate significant changes to the healthcare team

  • Provide emotional support education and guidance to patients and family members

  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care

  • Support newborn stabilization and immediate post-delivery care as needed

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation

  • Participate in discharge planning and patient education related to postpartum recovery and newborn care

  • Promote patient safety and adherence to evidence-based nursing practices

Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Neonatal resuscitation and fetal monitoring certifications preferred or ability to obtain

  • Previous Labor and Delivery nursing experience preferred

  • Strong assessment critical-thinking and communication skills

  • Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced clinical situations
