The Infusion Therapy Department provides safe and specialized administration of intravenous antibiotic medications fluids blood products and preformstherapeutic phlebotomy. The unit is staffed by trained healthcare professionals whomonitorpatients closely to ensure effective treatment manage side effects and supportoptimalpatient outcomes in a comfortable and controlled setting.
Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge judgement and nursing skills based upon theprinciples of psychological biologicalphysicaland social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needsincorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards. Mustpossessthe ability to supervise LPNsCNAs Techs Unit Secretaries and Clinical students. All employees will continuallymonitorand adhere to safetyresponsibilities and initiatives.
Description:
Assesses monitors anddocumentspatient status while developing implementing and evaluating individualized plans of care.
Provides safe evidence-based nursing care administers treatments responds to emergencies and delivers patient and family education.
Collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate carefacilitatepatient flow and promote positive outcomes.
Utilizes critical thinking clinical judgment SBAR communication andappropriate delegationto ensure quality patient-centered care.
Demonstrates leadership through teamwork mentoring workload prioritization shared governance and professional development.
Maintains current licensure continuing education regulatory compliance and adherence to organizational policies and safety standards.
Requirements:
Associate Degree in Nursing;Bachelors Degreepreferred.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current Kentucky RN license or Kentucky work permit.
No experience; patient care experience preferred.
Post-Hire Requirements:BLS (American Heart Association) and Nurse Wound Care within30 days; Glucometer Training upon hire; Aegis Training as.
