Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Rochester NY

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)

Job Summary

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergency trauma neurological cardiac and critical care conditions. The RN is responsible for rapid assessment triage emergency interventions patient stabilization and ongoing monitoring in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively manage high-acuity patients.

Required Qualifications
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License required.

  • Current AHA BLS Certification required.

  • Current AHA ACLS Certification required.

  • Current NIHSS Certification required.

  • Recent Emergency Department experience required.

  • EPIC EMR experience required.

  • Experience with ventilator management CPAP/BiPAP and IV vasopressors.

  • Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills.

  • Trauma stroke and emergency care experience required.

Responsibilities
  • Assess triage and provide emergency nursing care for patients of varying acuity levels.

  • Administer medications blood products IV therapies and emergency treatments.

  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to emergency situations.

  • Provide care for trauma neurological orthopedic and medical emergency patients.

  • Manage ventilated patients and respiratory support therapies.

  • Perform phlebotomy IV starts and central line care.

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in EPIC.

  • Follow infection control isolation and patient safety protocols.

  • Float within skillset as required to support patient care needs.
