What Were looking for

Provides direct patient care using the nursing process and supports unit coordination activities to promote safe high-quality outcomes. Serves as a resource to staff and assists with scheduling education and performance initiatives. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates staff scheduling educational/development activities and performance evaluations.
  • Identifies and resolves issues affecting delivery of clinical services and patient flow.
  • Performs quality assurance studies and assists with implementation of QA/QI initiatives.
  • Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts regarding clinical standards policies and procedures.
  • Monitors departmental compliance with accreditation legal and The Joint Commission requirements.
  • Provides direct patient care as needed in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

Patient Populations Served: Neonate Infant Early Childhood Late Childhood Adolescent Young Adult Middle Adult Older Adult. Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic Clinical Insurance Financial Complete Medical Record. Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens may be present. Physical Requirements (typical): Frequent standing walking lifting/moving patients keyboard entry and repetitive hand/arm movements; occasional sitting squatting and kneeling; rare running or climbing. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards including blood/body fluids hazardous medications and latex.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Qualification and requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Certifications: Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred; Handle with Care preferred.

Skills: Critical thinking decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments. Proficiency navigating multiple clinical software systems. Effective English communication (read write speak and understand). Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
