Location: Binghamton NY 13904
Contract Duration: 26 Weeks
Shift: Mid Shift 5x8 Hours (3:00 PM 11:00 PM)
Schedule Options: 2x12s 2x8s or 5x8s Available
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality psychiatric nursing care in a behavioral health setting. The RN will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to support patient treatment plans medication administration therapeutic interventions and accurate clinical documentation while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Administer psychiatric medications for up to 25 patients per shift
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patient conditions
- Complete shift notes weekly/monthly documentation and incident reporting accurately
- Support and maintain a safe structured and therapeutic patient care environment
- Collaborate with Mental Health Therapy Aides providers and interdisciplinary teams
- Serve as Charge RN when assigned and assist with unit operations
- Monitor patient behaviors safety concerns and responses to treatment plans
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and patient progress discussions
- Ensure compliance with behavioral health nursing standards facility policies and patient safety protocols
- Follow infection control procedures and documentation guidelines
- Support crisis intervention and behavioral management when necessary
- Maintain effective communication with staff patients and leadership teams
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Previous Behavioral Health or Psychiatric Nursing experience required
- Experience administering psychiatric medications preferred
- Strong nursing assessment and clinical documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced behavioral health environment
- Excellent communication teamwork and patient care skills
- Knowledge of behavioral health treatment practices and crisis intervention preferred
- Ability to maintain professionalism and support a therapeutic patient environment
- Flexibility to work assigned schedules and unit needs
