Registered Nurse ACU Full-Time Days

Position Summary

Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.

Essential Functions

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration specimen collection and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition communicating with care team physician patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living including hygiene elimination nutrition and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines including transfers discharges referrals and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age culture and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

Patient Populations Served: Neonate Infant Early Childhood Late Childhood Adolescent Young Adult Middle Adult Older Adult.

Exposure: Regular occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials.

Physical Requirements: Frequent standing walking lifting/moving patients and repetitive hand/arm movements.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Education: Associates degree in nursing required; bachelors degree in nursing preferred.

License: /Certifications: Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS PALS and Handle with Care preferred.
