About Mother/Baby Unit:The Baptist Health Lexington Mother/Baby Unit is comprised of 42 private rooms and is staffed by skilled and compassionate nurses who specialize in providing a high level of patient-centered postpartum care for both Mom and baby. Our newborn nursery is staffed by two newborn assessment nurses (NANs) and our patients receive breastfeeding guidance from staff along with our knowledgeable certified lactation consultants. Many members of the team have received extra training and certification in maternal and newborn care. Our focus is assisting families in getting the best start possible and making the transition home as smooth as possible through the provision of quality care education and support.

JOB SUMMARY
TheRegistered Nurse (RN)delivers compassionate evidence-based care designed to support healing and this role youll coordinate ensure and provide direct patient care while creating an environment rooted in dignity respect and empathy. You will use your clinical expertise and critical thinking to assess plan implement and evaluate individualized care for patients across the lifespan.

As aclinical nurse youll spend the majority of your time (>50%) coordinating ensuring and providing direct patient care through:

-Conducting nursing rounds assessments and treatments
-Facilitating admissions transfers and discharges
-Providing patient and family-centered education
-Coordinating care and developing individualized treatment plans

REQUIREMENTS:

-Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky
-Bachelors degree in nursing from an accredited college/university or an associate degree with a minimum of ten (10) years experience required.In lieu of a bachelors degree and less than ten years experience an associate degree in nursing will be acceptable for initial hire with the understanding that the individual must be enrolled within 12 months in a bachelors degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
-Basic Life Support (Must obtain within 30 days of hire.)
-ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
