Job Summary
Job Summary for PCU RN Nights:
- Provide patient care in a Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown)
- Manage and monitor cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips and thrombolytic agents
- Perform respiratory interventions: BiPAP/CPAP HFNC tracheostomy care chest tubes oxygen therapy ABG interpretation
- Conduct IV therapy phlebotomy and manage central/PICC/peripheral lines
- Administer blood products as needed
- Care for patients with various conditions: renal failure post-hemodialysis CVA seizure disorders substance withdrawal
- Manage feeding tubes and continuous bladder irrigation
- Provide wound care wound vac maintenance and manage surgical drains
- Implement isolation precautions and PPE use
- Respond to rapid response and code situations
- Care for post-cardiac angiogram post-MI pre/post cardiac cath and pacemaker patients
- Manage endocrine/metabolic protocols (e.g. IV insulin)
- Provide orthopedic care (e.g. joint replacements traction)
- Maintain professional certifications: ACLS BLS NIHSS (preferred)
- Work night shifts collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
