Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse Oncology
Location: Hyannis MA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift 5x8-Hour Shifts
Shift Times: Variable Start Times (7:00 AM 3:30 PM 7:30 AM 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM 4:30 PM)
Compensation: $2500 - $2720 Weekly (Based on Experience)
We are seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in an outpatient oncology setting. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for oncology patients receiving both curative and palliative treatments and possess strong assessment education and patient advocacy skills. This role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver compassionate patient-centered care throughout the treatment journey.
- Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized nursing care for oncology patients.
- Administer medications treatments and supportive therapies while monitoring patient responses.
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments including physical psychological social and discharge planning needs.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis treatment plans symptom management and supportive care resources.
- Support patients receiving both curative and palliative treatment modalities.
- Provide compassionate care and counseling to terminally ill patients and their families.
- Accurately document patient assessments interventions and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to staff when needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives staff education and professional development activities.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies nursing standards and regulatory requirements.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- BSN preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Massachusetts.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Successful completion of required clinical competency assessments prior to start.
Experience
- Previous outpatient oncology nursing experience required.
- Prior travel nursing experience required.
- Experience educating and counseling oncology patients receiving both curative and palliative treatments.
- Experience caring for terminally ill patients and supporting family members through the care process.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication counseling and patient education skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and healthcare information systems.
- Commitment to compassionate patient-centered oncology care.
