Registered Nurse MS/Tele (Acute Stroke Unit)

Location: Rochester NY
Shift: 3x12 Nights
Contract Type: 13 Weeks

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse for an Acute Stroke Unit in a tertiary care hospital. The unit focuses on acute stroke and neurological patients along with general medical admissions using an adjustable acuity model.

• Provide direct patient care in Med/Surg Tele / Acute Stroke Unit
• Manage patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
• Perform cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Respond to rapid response and code situations
• Administer IV therapy and perform phlebotomy
• Manage peripheral IV lines and vascular access care
• Provide respiratory support (oxygen therapy nasal cannula masks non-invasive airway support)
• Follow strict isolation and infection control protocols
• Monitor and care for acute stroke and neuro patients
• Document all patient care in EPIC system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams

• Active New York State RN License (must be in hand)
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg Tele experience
• BLS ACLS NIHSS certification required
• Strong experience with cardiac monitoring and stroke care
• IV therapy and phlebotomy competency required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Ability to work in high-acuity acute stroke environment
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
