Job Summary
Job Summary (List Format):
- Patient Ratios: Targeted nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6.
- Contract Hours: For 48-hour contracts overtime is paid after 48 hours.
- Required Competencies & Certifications:
- Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment prior to starting.
- Must have current ACLS NIH and BLS certifications.
- Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
- Clinical Experience:
- Minimum 1.5 years nursing experience required; Level 1 or 2 trauma center experience preferred.
- Experience with titratable insulin and cardiac drips (including amiodarone cardizem cardene) required.
- Travel nursing experience preferred.
- EPIC electronic medical record experience required.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Must be fitted for N95 mask before working on HRRU unit unless PAPR is provided.
- Team Nursing Model:
- May participate in team nursing with RNs LPNs and PCTs working together.
- Nurses may function in either team or primary nursing depending on unit needs.
- Floating Requirements:
- Traveler is first to float per facility discretion.
- Must float within specialty clusters and may float to other campuses within 15 miles.
- May be assigned to medically appropriate assignments or provide support to other units including high-risk respiratory/COVID units.
- Scheduling:
- Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday.
- Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census.
- Facility may cancel contract with 2 weeks notice.
- Incentives & Benefits: Travelers are not eligible for facility employee incentives.
- Unit Details:
- 43-bed mixed acuity unit focused on post-general surgery and stable cardiac telemetry patients.
- Navy blue scrubs required.
- RTO (Requested Time Off):
- All RTO must be requested with initial submission; no additional RTO allowed after offer.
- RTO approval at managers discretion.
- Application Process: Submittal email must include application and current Nursys report; additional certs not needed if listed on application.
