About the Role

We are hiring an experienced Registered Nurse MedSurg/PCU for a 13-week night shift assignment in Newport VT. This role requires a strong independent nurse with MedSurg PCU and telemetry experience who is comfortable working in a critical access setting performing charge nurse duties and floating to other units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for MedSurg PCU and telemetry patients.

• Monitor patient status and respond to clinical changes.

• Perform charge nurse duties when assigned.

• Work independently in a critical access hospital environment.

• Float to other units including ED and MCH based on facility needs.

• Administer medications treatments and interventions as ordered.

• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner.

• Communicate effectively with providers staff patients and families.

• Attend required department quarterly education sessions.

Requirements

• Vermont Registered Nurse license required upon acceptance.

• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience required.

• MedSurg PCU and telemetry experience required.

• BLS required.

• ACLS required.

• Cerner experience preferred.

• Must be able to work independently.

• Must be able to perform charge nurse duties.

• Must be willing to float to other units as needed.

• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required.

• Personal transportation strongly recommended due to limited public transportation.
