Job Summary

Duration: 14 Weeks (High possibility of extension or permanent placement)

Schedule: Night Shift 3x12-Hour Shifts
Shift Timing: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
Weekly Hours: 36 Hours

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare LLC isseeking an experienced Registered Nurse Medical / Surgical Step-Down to provide high-quality nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in a step-down/telemetry setting. The RN will be responsible for patient assessments cardiac monitoring medication administration and coordination of care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will have recent step-down and telemetry experience with strong critical thinking and patient management skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric medical/surgical step-down patients

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in patient condition

  • Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms while responding appropriately to clinical changes

  • Administer medications IV therapies and treatments as ordered

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using Paragon EMR and Pyxis systems

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies infection control and patient safety standards

  • Deliver quality patient care within a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 12 years of recent Step-Down and Telemetry nursing experience required

  • Strong acute care nursing assessment and cardiac monitoring skills

  • Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment

  • Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Licensure / Certification:

  • Active RN License required

  • BLS Certification required

  • ACLS Certification required

  • NIHSS Certification required
