Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care RNLM

Position Title: Registered Nurse Intermediate Care (IMCU/PCU)
Location: Utica NY
Employment Type: Travel / Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift
Schedule: 4x12 Hours 6:30 PM 7:00 AM

Job Summary:
Provide high-acuity nursing care for intermediate care patients with complex medical conditions including neuro cardiac respiratory trauma and post-operative cases in a busy IMCU/PCU setting.

Requirements:

• Active New York RN License required
• Minimum 2 years recent IMCU/PCU experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• NURSYS verification required for all active RN licenses
• Skills checklist matching specialty required
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Locals accepted (within 75 miles local rate applies)

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care for IMCU/PCU patients with complex conditions
• Manage patients with diagnoses including COPD DKA Sepsis MI CV stepdown trauma and neuro cases
• Monitor and manage specialty equipment including temp pacers chest tubes A-lines BiPAP and Neptune Vapo systems
• Care for chronic ventilator patients with respiratory therapy support
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Document all patient care accurately in Epic EMR
• Float to other units based on hospital needs
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to clinical standards

• 64-bed IMCU with 15 designated neuro beds
• Adult patient population (18)
• Common cases: Neuro cardiac trauma respiratory DKA sepsis MI post-op
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Block scheduling not guaranteed
• Floating required
