Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield Massachusetts. Our Team provides care for a 42-bed Medical Step-Down Unit including 21 beds equipped with bedside hemodynamic monitoring capabilities and 24-hour monitoring of these systems while working closely with Key teams and providers to deliver quality care.

The Registered Nurse role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality evidence-based care to medically complex patients while developing advanced clinical skills in a dynamic Medical Step-Down Unit. Nurses collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team and utilize continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring to recognize changes in patient condition intervene promptly and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a 42-bed Medical Step-Down Unit caring for patients with complex medical needs.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for changes in clinical condition.
• Monitor patients continuously using cardiac vital-sign and bedside hemodynamic monitoring systems.
• Provide 24-hour surveillance of hemodynamic monitoring equipment and recognize abnormal readings or trends.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient status and initiate appropriate nursing interventions within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate and deliver individualized patient care.
• Educate patients and families promote safe transitions of care and support positive patient outcomes and recovery.

• Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
