Summary:

UT Health Tyler is seeking an experienced Travel ICU Registered Nurse to join its Level I Trauma ICU. This high-acuity unit provides critical care to trauma surgical medical and critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions. Candidates must have recent ICU experience strong ventilator management skills experience caring for critically ill patients and the ability to function effectively in a Level I Trauma environment.

This position requires floating to ICU IMC and Telemetry units based on patient census and staffing needs.

16 Beds
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Float Required: ICU IMC and Telemetry as needed

Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU and Trauma ICU patients.
Assess monitor and manage critically ill patients requiring intensive nursing interventions.
Care for mechanically ventilated patients and manage respiratory support systems.
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.
Manage central lines and administer blood products.
Initiate and maintain peripheral IV access.
Participate in trauma activations and emergency response situations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Respond appropriately to rapid patient deterioration and emergency situations.
Document all patient care activities accurately within Epic EMR.
Float to ICU IMC and Telemetry units as assigned.

Key Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience.
Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
Epic EMR experience required.
Experience working in Trauma ICU Surgical ICU Medical ICU or Level I/II Trauma Centers strongly preferred.
Must be comfortable floating to ICU IMC and Telemetry units.
Experience managing ventilated patients and complex critical care populations required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced high-acuity trauma environment.
Day shift availability required.

Qualifications

Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
ADN or BSN accepted.
BSN preferred.

Experience:
Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience required.
Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
Prior Trauma ICU experience highly preferred.
Teaching Hospital experience preferred.
Community Hospital experience preferred.
Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred.
Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred.
Experience with patient ratios of 1:2 required.

License:
Active RN License.
Texas RN License or Compact RN License required prior to start.
