Summary:
UT Health Tyler is seeking experienced ICU Registered Nurses to provide care in a mixed-acuity critical care environment consisting of Medical ICU (MICU) Surgical ICU (SICU) Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients. This position requires nurses experienced in managing critically ill adult patients with complex medical surgical cardiac respiratory renal and multi-system organ dysfunction conditions.

Candidates should possess strong critical care skills including ventilator management vasoactive drip titration hemodynamic monitoring arterial line management cardiac rhythm interpretation and advanced respiratory support. Previous travel experience and Epic EMR experience are highly preferred.

Unit Details:
Mixed ICU Environment (MICU/SICU/CCU)
10 Bed Unit
Patient Ratio: 1:2 (occasionally 1:3 depending on acuity and census)

Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to medically and surgically complex ICU patients.
Monitor and manage critically ill patients requiring advanced life support interventions.
Manage ventilated patients and advanced respiratory therapies.
Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive medications.
Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and adjust patient care accordingly.
Monitor and manage patients with multi-system organ dysfunction and failure.
Perform invasive line management including:

• Arterial Lines
• Central Lines
• PICC Lines
• Ports
• Swan-Ganz Catheters
  Assist with chest tube insertion and removal procedures.
  Provide pre/post cardiac catheterization care.
  Manage patients with acute and chronic renal failure.
  Administer blood products and monitor for transfusion reactions.
  Implement infection prevention and isolation protocols.
  Respond to emergency situations and participate in rapid response and code events.
  Document patient care accurately within Epic EMR.

Key Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience.
Experience in MICU SICU CCU or mixed critical care environments required.
Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
Epic EMR experience required.
Strong ventilator and respiratory management experience required.
Experience titrating vasoactive drips and cardiac drips required.
Comfortable caring for high-acuity patients with multiple organ system involvement.
Night shift availability required.

Qualifications

Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
ADN or BSN accepted.
BSN preferred.

Experience:
Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience required.
Experience in Medical ICU (MICU) Surgical ICU (SICU) Coronary Care Unit (CCU) or mixed critical care units required.
Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
Teaching Hospital experience preferred.
Community Hospital experience preferred.
Experience with patient ratios of 1:2 required.
Experience caring for ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients required.

License:
Active RN License.
Texas RN License or Compact RN License required prior to start.
