Job Summary

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity:

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university degree in nursing.
  • Must have an active unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Montana or the ability to become licensed in the State of Montana.
  • Preferred experience working with psychiatric inpatient treatment programs.

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within Montana State Hospital - Grasslands.

This position is located in Helena MT at the Grasslands facility which is an off-site facility of the Montana State Hospital. It is funded through June 30 2027. After this date the position may be funded permanently or may be subject to a reduction in force (RIF).

A Registered Nurse at Montana State Hospital utilizes a Team Nursing approach to provide care and support to clients within the framework of a therapeutic environment. This position performs nursing assessment planning interventions and evaluation for adult clients with serious mental illness. Responsibilities include assigning work and providing direction and training to subordinate nursing personnel.
