Job Summary

Schedule: 36 hours weekly 7 PM to 7AM. Type: In Person.

The Geriatric Neuropsychiatry Unitis a 14-18 bed unit providing treatment for patients whose psychiatric symptoms may be the result of Alzheimers or Parkinsons disease neurodegenerative disorders or head traumas.

As a Registered Nurse/RN you will:

  • Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services including assessing planning administering and evaluating patient care in accordance with team treatment plans.
  • Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
  • Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and their families.
  • Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff.
  • Document and report patient progress to treatment team.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland (or compact state) at time of appointment and continuously while in position.
  • Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred
  • Preferred Geriatric and/or Med-Surg experience (at least 1 year)
  • All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following your first day of employment.
  • AHA CPR required before first day of employment

What we need from you.

  • Must hold current registered nurse (RN) licensure to practice in Maryland at the time of appointment and maintain licensure throughout the duration of employment.
    • Candidates residing in a compact state may apply with a multistate license and must obtain a Maryland RN license within 60 days of relocation.
  • Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting is preferred but not necessary.
