Registered Nurse General Surgery/Trauma Practice

• Baystate Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our General Surgery/Trauma practice team.
• This ambulatory nursing role provides direct patient care telephone triage patient education care coordination and clinical support for trauma and surgical patients across the continuum of care.
• The RN works collaboratively with providers clinical staff patients and families to deliver high-quality patient-centered care while supporting safety efficiency and positive patient outcomes.
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Provide telephone triage and clinical support for trauma and general surgery patients
• Administer and monitor therapeutic interventions and treatments
• Coordinate care with providers and interdisciplinary team members
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans procedures medications and follow-up care
• Support transitions of care and identify barriers impacting patient outcomes
• Promote patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Mentor and support new staff nursing students and team members as appropriate
• Maintain clinical competencies and compliance with regulatory standards

SCHEDULE:

• Full-time 40 hours/week
• 10-hour shifts MondayFriday

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Massachusetts RN license required
• BLS CPR certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience preferred; 10-months required
• Previous experience in trauma surgery Med-Surg ambulatory care OR PACU or related specialty preferred
• Strong triage assessment communication and care coordination skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork
