Job Summary
As a Float Pool RN youll play a critical role across the organizationbringing your expertise to diverse patient populations and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams where youre needed most. There is more than one location associated with this position. This is either because there are multiple openings at different sites or the successful candidate will be required to float across multiple UHS facilities. Your recruiter and hiring manager will clarify expectations during the interview process.

$44.77 - $67.15 per hour depending on experienceYou will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours.

Responsibilities:
Assesses plans delegates coordinates implements and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse whendesignatedby unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety effectiveness competencycostand impact.
Educatespatientand family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.
Shares inresponsibility for productivity and effective resourcesutilizationincluding staffing time managementsuppliesand services.
Complies withall nursing practice standards regulatory requirements and UHS policies.
Activelyparticipatesin and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Councilparticipatingin improvement initiatives and contributing to peer review practices.
Actively engages in professional development continuing nursing education and completing all mandatory education requirements.
Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.
Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
- Graduate of Accredited school of nursing
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
- Current New York State Registered Nurse
- CPR within 3 months of hire
- ACLS within 3 months of hire
Preferred:
- Professional Certification
