Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced CVOR RN with recent open-heart and scrub experience for a fast-paced cardiac surgery environment. This role requires strong clinical skills schedule flexibility and the ability to respond quickly for call coverage. Candidates will undergo a clinical prescreen prior to manager interview and final consideration.

Responsibilities:
Provide direct perioperative nursing care for cardiovascular/open-heart surgical procedures
Scrub and circulate cardiac surgery cases in a high-acuity OR setting
Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environment and cardiac instruments
Collaborate with surgeons anesthesia providers perfusionists and OR team members
Participate in rotating call coverage and weekend call schedules
Float to other areas as needed based on operational needs
Document patient care accurately using EPIC
Support infection prevention and patient safety protocols during complex cardiac procedures

Key Requirements:
Minimum 2 years recent CVOR RN experience required
Open-heart experience REQUIRED
Scrub experience REQUIRED
EPIC experience REQUIRED
BLS required
Alternating days off schedule
1 2 call days per week with mandatory 30-minute response time
Weekend call rotation every 3rd or 4th weekend (Friday 4:30 PM Monday 6:00 AM)
Must be willing to work holidays as needed including at least 1 major holiday during assignment
Maximum 7 days RTO allowed
Floating required as needed
Candidate may care for COVID patients
Tobacco-free and fragrance-free facility - candidate must be notified prior to submission
Clinical prescreen and manager interview required

Education:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program

Experience:
Minimum 2 years recent CVOR/Open Heart RN experience in acute care hospital setting

License:
Active RN License

Recruiter Market Insight:
Open-heart scrub experience is a hard requirement and the main reason for manager declines - verify actual scrub competency in detail before submission
Candidates from large cardiac surgery programs or Level I/teaching hospitals will be highly competitive
Heavy call expectations can cause fallout; confirm candidate is fully comfortable with 30-minute response time and weekend coverage before RTR
EPIC experience should be recent and clearly reflected on resume/profile
Strong communication and interview presence matter since manager interview is required
Candidates with stable recent CVOR assignments and low RTO will have stronger chances for offer consideration
