Registered Nurse Cardiovascular Advanced Care

Position Summary:The Registered Nurse (RN) manages the episode of patient care in partnership with persons care givers groups and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe quality health care. This patient care may be through direct care by the RN or it may be through coordinating and supervising patient care delegated to Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.

The Advanced Care Unit is a 20-bed unit that serves acute and/or chronically ill patients requiring close observation management and monitoring. We care for patients having acute MIs unstable arrhythmias or require temporary pacemakers. Patients having respiratory distress-requiring bipap or hi flo. Medical patients such as GIB DKA or pulmonary hypertension. We also care for vascular surgical patients such as CEAs LE bypass endovascular AAA. Nurse-patient ratios 3:1 or 2:1. Individualized orientation for each new hire ECCO and ACLS certification.

Work Schedule: 0.75 FTE Straight Overnight 12-hour shifts & every third weekend

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an associate baccalaureate or masters degree program in Nursing. BSN preferred and generally expected that BSN is obtained within 2 years of hire.

• Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License
• BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
• Excellent critical thinking multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• 1 year(s) of Acute Care RN experience
