- Shift / Schedule: Nights 312 Hours (18:4507:15); 36 hours per week

This is a Cardiac Telemetry (Cardiac Tele) travel nursing contract position at a regional medical center in Wilmington NC. The unit cares for a high-acuity cardiac patient population and requires nurses with demonstrated experience on the cardiac floor. Contract staff are expected to integrate into unit rotation support weekend scheduling and be prepared for emergency storm/disaster team assignments as directed by facility leadership.
- Provide nursing care for patients with cardiac diagnoses including Atrial Fibrillation CHF CAD Aortic Stenosis/Regurgitation Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis Endocarditis Cardiomyopathy PVD/PAD Vasculitis Carotid Stenosis Venous Stasis and related conditions requiring sheath management and sheath removal.
- Perform and assist with special procedures including CABG AVR MVR TAVR Mitral Clip LAAO (Watchman procedure) VATS Carotid Endarterectomy FEM-POP Bypass Amputations other vascular surgeries cardiac surgeries thoracic surgeries general thoracic surgery Post Cath Post DCCV Post Electrophysiology Procedures and Pacemaker Placements.
- Operate and utilize specialized unit equipment including Arterial Lines Doppler Bladder Scanner EKG Femoral Sheaths TR Band Fem-Stop Chest Tubes and Epicardial Pacing Wires.
- Utilize unit systems for medication documentation and communication: Pyxis EPIC and SBAR.
- Follow unit rotation for floating will not be first to float.
- Fulfill weekend requirement of 4 weekends per 4 weeks (flexible).
- Be assigned to and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event mass casualty or disaster.
- Be aware that consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur and contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.

- External CPAP/BIPAP
- Nasal Cannula
- Non-invasive airway management
- Traveler experience required UNLESS traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience
- Arterial Line Management
- Wound Care / Wound Vac
- Charge Experience
- BLS & ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
- Flu vaccination required (Medical/Religious Exemptions only)
- Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required
- Night shift 312-hour schedules (36 hours per week only)
- Patient ratios vary per acuity: 1:4 for surgical step down; 1:56 for lower acuity
- Float requirement: will follow unit rotation not first to float
- Weekend requirement: 4 per 4 weeks (flexible)
- Unit orientation: 24 hours
- Scrubs: Navy
- Contract staff will be assigned to and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event mass casualty or disaster
- Mid-contract consolidation to the Centralized Office may occur; contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed
- RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly result in a contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start this is a pre-start requirement for this specialty.
