HERES WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE:
1) Youll be joining the Schiffert Health Center team; a department centered on the health and well-being of the Virginia Tech student population.
2) Youll be reporting to the Nurse Supervisor in a regular nine-month 100% university staff appointment.
3) Youll provide professional nursing care and health services including testing nursing assessment allergy injections and first aid to students.
4) Youll disseminate health services information and provide specialized assistance and counseling regarding individual health needs.
5) Youll maintain a variety of health records determine health education/promotion needs and develop action plans.
6) Youll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
7) Youll be offered a base compensation package between $52905 - $55556 along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance paid leave retirement tuition assistance VT discounts and so much more!

Required Qualifications
Demonstrates excellent professional nursing skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to relate well with both patients and fellow workers.
Demonstrates empathy for patients.
Makes independent clinical judgments.
Computer/Electronic Medical Record experience.
Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in College Health Nursing.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Certified as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE).
Experience in a college health setting.
