Job Summary:

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) / Paraprofessional to support students with academic behavioral social-emotional and communication needs. Responsibilities include providing direct student support implementing behavior and instructional plans collecting data collaborating with staff and promoting student independence and success in a school setting.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to students in academic behavioral social and functional skill development.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and individualized education programs (IEPs) under the supervision of certified staff.
  • Collect and maintain accurate behavioral and instructional data.
  • Support students in general education and specialized instructional settings.
  • Assist students with organization task completion communication and social interactions.
  • Utilize positive behavior supports and de-escalation strategies as needed.
  • Support students during transitions lunch recess community-based activities and other school routines.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers special education staff behavior specialists and related service providers.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information in accordance with district policies and federal regulations.
  • Participate in required trainings and professional development activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • RBT certification required
  • Strong communication teamwork and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students with diverse educational and behavioral needs.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Salary and Benefits: Pay and benefits in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Unit of AFSCME 6.5 hours per day with a starting wage of $21.00 per hour.

Qualifications:High school diploma required; associates degree or higher preferred. RBT Certification required.
