What you bring to SBHG:
Education:
High School Diploma (Required).
Experience:
1 year of experience providing substance use prevention intervention counseling recovery support or treatment services preferably with individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health behavioral health or psychosocial needs.
Licensure & Certification:
Registered Alcohol & Drug Technician OR
Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC or other state-approved certification)
Valid California Drivers License(required)
Language Skills:
Bilingual in Spanish is required.
How you will make a difference(job overview):
This position is responsible for providing substance use prevention treatment recovery support and relapse prevention services to clients through individual group and collateral counseling. The Counselor Drug and Alcohol supports clients in identifying substance use patterns triggers barriers to recovery and co-occurring behavioral health needs while helping them build practical coping skills strengthen motivation for change and connect to appropriate community-based recovery resources. This role may facilitate education and awareness workshops on topics related to substance use harm reduction wellness recovery planning relapse prevention and life skills. The position also assists clients with recovery planning discharge planning care coordination referrals and ongoing engagement in services that support long-term stability and recovery.

Clinical Services: Comprehensive mental health care psychiatric evaluation Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) individual/family therapy and multidisciplinary care delivered by psychiatrists psychologists social workers and clinicians
Length of Stay:Outpatient/community-based timeline (varies according to individual treatment plan and progress)
Skills & Transition:Interagency collaboration and transition support with school administrators county social workers probation officers and case managers. Case management parent partner support life skills development and wraparound community support services
