Job Summary
STV is seeking a Regional Wastewater Process & Resource Recovery Technical Leader to support the continued growth and technical delivery of our Water practice. This individual will serve as a senior technical resource for wastewater treatment process design biosolids management and resource recovery projects across the region.
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in wastewater process engineering a strong understanding of municipal clients and the ability to support both project delivery and business development efforts. This role will partner closely with regional leadership project managers and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions for water and wastewater clients while helping expand STVs presence in the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a regional technical leader for wastewater treatment process design and resource recovery projects.
- Lead and support planning evaluation design and implementation of wastewater treatment facility upgrades and expansions.
- Provide technical guidance related to biological treatment nutrient removal solids handling biosolids management anaerobic digestion energy recovery and water reuse.
- Support project teams through process modeling alternatives evaluations basis of design reports technical memoranda design reviews and QA/QC.
- Partner with project managers to ensure technical excellence schedule adherence budget performance and client satisfaction.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to municipal clients helping identify practical cost-effective and innovative treatment solutions.
- Support business development activities including client engagement capture planning proposal development interviews and technical presentations.
- Help identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities within wastewater treatment and resource recovery markets.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers supporting technical growth across the Water practice.
- Collaborate with local regional and national technical leaders to share best practices and strengthen STVs overall wastewater capabilities.
- Stay current on emerging treatment technologies regulatory trends funding opportunities and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Environmental Chemical or related Engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer license required.
- 15 years of progressive experience in wastewater treatment planning design and project delivery.
- Strong technical background in municipal wastewater treatment processes and facility design.
- Experience with nutrient removal biological treatment solids handling biosolids and/or resource recovery.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical components of complex wastewater projects.
- Experience supporting municipal client relationships business development proposals and project pursuits.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to clients leadership and project teams.
- Proven ability to mentor staff and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Civil Environmental Chemical or related Engineering discipline.
- Experience serving as Engineer of Record technical advisor or subject matter expert on major wastewater treatment projects.
- Existing client relationships within the regional municipal water/wastewater market.
- Experience with alternative delivery design-build or progressive design-build projects.
- Familiarity with process modeling software treatment plant optimization energy recovery and sustainability-focused design.
- Active involvement in professional organizations such as WEF AWWA WEFTEC or state/local water associations.
Compensation Range:
