Position Summary

The Regional Manager ABA is a hybrid clinical and operational leadership position responsible for both the delivery of high-quality patient care and the performance and growth of Pediatric Therapies Hawaiis ABA service line. The role will generally be divided approximately 50/50 between direct clinical responsibilities as a BCBA and administrative operational and business development responsibilities with the balance flexing based on patient volume staffing and business needs. As the primary operational leader for ABA the Regional Manager will have direct supervisory responsibility for all ABA employees including BCBAs RBTs and support staff and will be accountable for clinical quality patient outcomes team performance operational execution and service-line growth. Business development responsibilities will include referral development building relationships with physicians and community partners conducting outreach advancing growth initiatives and identifying new opportunities to expand ABA services. The Regional Manager reports directly to the COO and serves as the primary link between ABA clinical operations and the broader organizational strategy of PTH.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

  • Provide direct clinical services as a BCBA based on patient volume staffing and business needs.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical quality and evidence-based ABA practice.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and ensure treatment plans and services are clinically appropriate and effectively implemented.
  • Provide clinical guidance mentorship and support to BCBAs and RBTs.
  • Promote consistent clinical standards documentation and ethical practices across the ABA service line.
  • Identify clinical risks or concerns and take appropriate action.
  • Support the development of a strong clinical culture focused on patient outcomes and quality of care.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Directly supervise all ABA employees including BCBAs RBTs and support staff.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for results.
  • Conduct regular coaching feedback and performance discussions.
  • Support employee development training and professional growth.
  • Address performance issues conflicts and other employee matters in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing collaborative ABA team.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and coverage based on patient and business needs.

ABA Operations

  • Serve as the primary operational leader for the ABA service line.
  • Oversee day-to-day ABA operations including scheduling caseload management staffing productivity capacity and patient flow.
  • Develop implement and continuously improve ABA workflows procedures and operating standards.
  • Identify operational barriers and implement practical solutions.
  • Establish and monitor appropriate operational and clinical performance metrics.
  • Use data and performance information to identify trends improve outcomes and drive accountability.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure effective integration of ABA with the broader organization.
  • Ensure the ABA service line operates in accordance with applicable regulatory payer and organizational requirements.

Business Development & Growth

  • Develop and maintain relationships with physicians healthcare providers schools community organizations and other potential referral sources.
  • Conduct community outreach and represent Pediatric Therapies Hawaii professionally within the community.
  • Develop strategies to increase appropriate ABA referrals and strengthen referral relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to expand ABA services and improve access to care.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of growth initiatives.
  • Identify emerging opportunities barriers and market needs and communicate recommendations to the COO.

Leadership & Organizational Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the COO on the development and execution of ABA service-line priorities.
  • Translate organizational objectives into clear operational priorities for the ABA team.
  • Communicate operational clinical staffing and growth issues to the COO in a timely manner.
  • Take ownership of problems and work toward solutions rather than simply escalating issues.
  • Participate in organizational initiatives and projects that support the overall mission and strategic objectives.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Active BCBA certification.
  • Eligible to practice as a BCBA in the State of Hawaii.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of BCBA clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients families and clinical professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organize prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a clinical environment.
  • Strong communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently make sound decisions and take ownership of outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience supervising BCBAs and/or RBTs.
  • Experience managing an ABA program clinic team or service line.
  • Pediatric ABA experience.
  • Experience with referral development community outreach or healthcare relationship management.
  • Experience working with Medicaid and commercial insurance.
  • Demonstrated experience improving clinical or operational performance.
  • Experience building expanding or scaling an ABA program.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
