Job Summary
This position serves the Piedmont and Western regions of Virginia and includes the Abingdon Christiansburg Roanoke Lynchburg and Charlottesville offices.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Oversee and direct the work of adoption specialists through team meetings individual supervision and file review providing meaningful professional support and guidance to ensure compliance with documentation requirements ethical standards reporting requirements agency policies and grant guidelines.
- Facilitate comprehensive onboarding/training for new staff and monitor ongoing team member training to nurture professional growth strengthen adoption competency and ensure compliance regarding program policies and procedures grant targets minimum standards code of Virginia personnel policies and procedures and social work best practices.
- Continually develop and facilitate a regional consortium to strengthen regional support for adoptive families maintaining positive professional relationships and successfully promoting activities with various stakeholders including staff adoptive family members subcontractors referral agencies key community partners and media.
- Complete grant performance surveys analyses and reports in a timely and comprehensive manner to meet funding requirements and assist with continual quality improvements.
- Collaborate with the Director of Adoption regional supervisors adoption team members other DePaul staff across programs DePaul leadership and community partners to optimize services program outcomes fiscal responsibility and realization of the agency mission. This may sometimes necessitate direct client contact through substitute case management group facilitation or event participation.
- Network with grantors trauma-responsive coalitions and adoption specialized agencies and professionals to stay current on evolving grant requirements policy changes and trends in adoption service provision on a community state and national level.
- Office and records administration techniques and procedures
- The structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words rules of composition and grammar
- Microsoft Office Word Excel Powerpoint Outlook Sharepoint Teams and virtual meeting applications such as Zoom WebEx Google Meet
- DePauls policies procedures and standard practices and the rules and guidelines established by regulatory and governing agencies
- Relevant policies procedures and strategies to promote the safety and protection of people data and property
- Office procedures and spelling grammar punctuation and arithmetic
- Policies procedures and guidelines established by DePaul professional organizations governing agencies and local laws statutes regulations codes and standards related to the area of responsibility
- Methodologies and resources used to assess the needs of the listener or audience to share information or engage in ongoing communication
- Program planning and implementation qualitative and quantitative performance analysis and return on investment measurement techniques
- Motor vehicle operations traffic rules and regulations and maintenance of motor vehicles
- Demonstrate interpersonal and verbal skills to defuse emotional situations calm upset individuals allay fears and lessen confusion
- Give full attention to what other people are saying take time to understand the points being made ask questions as appropriate and not interrupt at inappropriate times
- Demonstrate verbal and written communication and body language that purveys professional composure emotional intelligence thoughtfulness patience and respect amidst change ambiguity and within the daily trajectories of work
