Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Responsible for obtaining profitable results for the region by developing the buying team through motivation counseling skills development and market knowledge.
• Participate in the recruiting hiring and training efforts to grow the company buying staff.
• Assist in the development of regional strategies & business plan covering procurement of scrap metals revenues & expense control. Meet agreed upon targets and promote the organization at the retail industrial and business-to-business levels.
• Manage the purchasing administration functions & performance reporting helping to streamline processes wherever possible.
• Ensure local state & federal compliance of all required recycling regulations.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure receipt of quality material consistent tonnage and credibility in the company. Advise senior management on maximizing business relationships & improving customer service.
• Clearly communicate & drive company-wide initiatives & strategies.
• Forecast weekly monthly and annual volumes and margins for the region. Adjust purchase pricing through monitoring of competition and market conditions to meet forecast. Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.
• Willingness to travel and relocate to other regions in the United States.
• Proven prior management of regional procurement or sales team preferred.
