What you will be doing

As an Area Refrigeration Supervisor you will be responsible for managing the efforts of Division Refrigeration in-house refrigeration mechanics. Your duties will include ongoing training of refrigeration mechanics as new equipment materials and processes become available. You will also direct in-house refrigeration mechanics and/or Authorized Service Providers in the maintenance leak rate management service and repairs of refrigeration HVAC and EMS systems in retail locations. Additionally you will provide guidance and recommendations regarding specifications design scope and bidding for all HVAC and refrigeration projects.

Main responsibilities

• Ensures the standardization of corporate objectives policies and procedures with respect to companys implementation of in-house refrigeration maintenance programs.
• Manages day-to-day operation of division-level refrigeration maintenance programs and in house technician team servicing our stores.
• OverseeHVACRmaintenance program within the assigned operating areapertaining to In-house refrigeration maintenance and technicians including service training safety and compliance.
• Establish best practices processes and procedures with other service area supervisors.
• Collaborate with coordinators safety and compliance on day-to-day management of in-house refrigeration program and technicians.
• Responsibilities involve the performance of discretionary tasks requiring considerable knowledge of HVACR equipment the division and company operations.
• Provide recommendations and direction for all pre-construction refrigeration surveys for stores scheduled for construction remodel or expansion.
• Provide support to the Energy Manager to achieve improved system performance and reduced energy consumption and costs.
• Responsible for the proper application and handling of all refrigerants in compliance with Federal State and Local regulations as well as compliance with company refrigerant handling policies and procedures.
• Act as coordinator between the Division and Corporate in the selection of equipment and materials for remodelor upgrade projects as required.
• Manage a fleet of service trucks issued to in-house mechanics.
• Maintain coordinate and approve services for all outside vendor servicesas required to support HVAC refrigeration and EMS.
• Identify coordinate and assign needed Preventive Maintenance projects cleaning schedules and waste reduction projects
• Maintain accurate tracking and recording of division refrigeration compliance reporting and train in-house mechanics and ensure compliance procedures are followed.
• Provide daily support and guidance for division refrigeration HVACR inquiries and/or issues.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience

• College or Trade School Degree in related field preferred and/or equivalent work experience in areas of refrigeration electrical and facility maintenance.
• Must possess an EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
• Thorough knowledge of refrigeration systems used in a supermarket environment is required. Knowledge of current refrigeration system controls (ComTrol Danfoss CPC and others) is required.
• Experience in HVAC maintenance & repairs

• Able to accept after-hours emergency calls or calls received after normal business hours when required to support the overall operation of each store location.

• Possess good leadership skills and the ability to supervise the work of others.

• Able to motivate and work with others to achieve desired results.

• Possess good communication skills both verbal and written. Deal effectively with a wide variety of people both in-person and over the telephone.

• Basic computer skills required including Word and Excel.

• Ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate safe and thorough completion or work activities. Possess ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.

• Travel required including occasional overnight.

Physical Environment

• Travel Requirements:Up to 80% travel may be required.
• Emergency Response:After-hours emergency calls must be addressed.
• Work Environment:Some tasks are performed in a temperature-controlled office while others are in exterior ambient conditions.
• Physical Demands:The incumbent may sit for extended periods at a desk or computer terminal and use various office equipment including calculators keyboards telephones and PDAs.
• Facility Access:The incumbent must be able to access all parts of the supervised facility including roofs basements and crawl spaces.
• Physical Activities:Ladder climbing to mechanical rooms and roofs as well as stooping bending twisting and reaching will be required to complete job duties.
