Job Summary
Help protect one of Floridas most vital resources water with a career at theSouthwest Florida Water Management District (District).
The District is a government agency whose mission is to protect water resources minimize flood risks and ensure the publics water needs are met. We serve a population of nearly 6million people in west-central Florida as directed by state law.
For helping to maintain our valuable water resources as a student we offer:

- Support the fiveâyear Imaging Project by organizing filing and assisting with managing completed File Plans and Digital Records Survey responses.
- Work with Records Liaisons as they conduct interviews with each Bureaus Records Coordinator to review confirm and update all file plans for paper and electronic records.
- Enter finalized and updated file plans into SharePoint using the new Microsoft Lists format.
- Verify that each record series in the updated file plans aligns with the current General Records Schedule (GS1).
- Assist in collecting organizing and tracking responses from the Digital Records Survey as it is developed and distributed.
- Prepare records for imaging as part of various imaging projects.
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy clarity and completeness of digitized materials.
Most time will be spent in an office environment and requires the ability to perform continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. There may be extended periods of standing and the ability of lifting and carrying up to 40 pound record boxes is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Beat least part-time and currently enrolled in an accredited college university or other recognized educational or vocational program
- Maintain a minimum GPAof 2.5 for undergraduate students or minimum GPA of 3.0 for graduate students
- Valid drivers license
- Knowledge of document management systems and digital imaging systems
- Ability to accurately file alphabetically and numerically
- Ability to perform office tasks effectively and efficiently
- Ability to express oneself to provide information to others effectively
- Ability to use computerized business systems web-based data systems and other technology to complete work assignments
- Knowledge of and ability to use office support tools available at the desktop (for example: word processing email spreadsheets)
- Preferred Degree Level: Undergraduate
The District will determine eligibility for employment solely from the information provided on a District employment application. All applicants are required to complete in full the District employment application. Incomplete applications will not be considered. A resume will not be considered as a substitute for the required District application for the purpose of qualification.
This position is typically scheduled to work no more than 25 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM out of the Brooksville FL office.
Limited travel using District vehicle within the Districts coverage area
