Anoka Homestead is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare affiliate of the Volunteers of America parent organization.

The Receptionist interacts directly with residents and their families/responsible parties and all levels of staff; supports the facility in the care and treatment of residents; and serves as a liaison between our customers and various departments.

Compensation: $18 - $21 based on years of experience.

Schedule: Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Friday - 7:30am - 4:00pm

ESSENTIALS:

  • Assumes responsibility for designated clerical and receptionist duties; schedules work assignments for part-time receptionist.
  • Receives incoming telephone calls screens for correct transfer and connects with appropriate party.
  • Greets and directs visitors; greets screens and directs salespersons as advised.
  • Maintain the master calendar for the ED schedules and appointments.
  • Assists participants in transportation needs making beauty shop appointments and checking apartments for maintenance and/or housekeeping needs.
  • Provide clerical support for the entire facility as directed including typing filing and distributing correspondence ensuring outgoing mail is ready for pick-up sorting and distributing mail and maintaining inventory supply and replenishing as needed: provide notary services for participants.
  • Assist with projects
  • Maintain and distribute phone lists and addresses accordingly.
  • Assists with participant activities as needed or directed.
  • Report equipment and computer malfunctions to the Executive Director and arrange for repair/service as needed.
  • Performs other duties or special assignments as directed by the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read speak and write fluently in English;
  • Excellent communication and phone skills;
  • Ability to prepare written assessments and correspondence; read and interpret rules and regulations;
  • Carry on negotiations for guests welfare on the phone.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and perform several job functions at once.
  • Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping in-servicing and documentation.
