About the role:

At Boston Scientific we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least five days per week.

As an R&D Engineering Systems Co-op you will join a dynamic interdisciplinary team providing technical leadership across mechanical electrical software and catheter engineering. You will collaborate with partners in marketing regulatory and quality to support projects from concept through commercialization as well as sustainment of currently released mapping systems. This role offers hands-on experience contributing to system requirements risk analysis and verification activities while supporting cross-functional deliverables.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Help define and analyze system requirements clinical workflows and input/output processes using current systems engineering methods and technologies.

• Solve system problems by analyzing situations and recommending corrective or alternative actions.

• Document system architecture and design control elements through technical documents reports and memos.

• Collaborate in translating customer needs into technical requirements partnering with field marketing service and other cross-functional teams.

• Define troubleshoot and execute testing for system design and verification activities.

• Assist with industry standards testing for safety and EMC in accordance with IEC 60601-1.

• Support risk analysis activities for assigned projects.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives.

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelors or graduate-level degree in biomedical engineering computer engineering computer science or electrical engineering with an expected graduate between Fall 2027toSpring 2028.

• Proficiency in programming using MATLAB.

• Strong understanding of hardware/software systems.

• Available to participate for the full duration of the co-op program from May 17th or May 24th December 17th 2027.

• Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future for employment-based work authorization.

• Have reliable transportation to and from 309 Waverley Oaks Road Waltham MA 02452. Boston Scientific does not provide transportation or transportation support to and from its locations.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills including experience with documentation and report writing.

• Knowledge of system-level programming in C Linux and Python.

• High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly) non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g. any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
