Job Summary
Role Summary
Leads the 24/7/365 range firing desk and scheduling operation at the National Training Center. This role owns continuous range control access management and the safe coordinated execution of all range and training land activities and supervises the firing desk shift teams that keep the operation running around the clock.
Key Duties
Supervise round-the-clock firing desk staffing across rotating shifts with half-hour shift overlaps maintaining continuity from shift to shift and surge coverage during rotations and major training events.
Direct range and training area scheduling and de-confliction in RFMSS granting or denying range access and opening or closing ranges based on the Range Bulletin.
Oversee net control station operations two-way radio communications weather and fire alerts flight advisories and emergency coordination including MEDEVAC initiation and incident reporting.
Manage daily Range/Training Area Activity Logs range complex access passes and customer briefings covering live-fire ranges EOD activity route closures off-limit areas and check-in procedures.
Lead train and schedule firing desk personnel and enforce compliance with NTC regulations.
Required Qualifications and Certifications
3 years experience in fire desk operations including managing firing desk and scheduling functions and personnel.
Formal training and certification on RFMSS version 3.3
