Responsibilities

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for producing radiographs of various parts of the body. Positions patients under the X-Ray machine and regulates technical factors to produce radiographs. Assists radiologists in X-Ray procedures; prepares patients draws contrast media mixes barium and maintains daily work and transfers patients to and from x-ray table using proper safety proper technical factors for film by automatic or daylight physician in administering opaque media and during fluoroscopy barium for contrast up contrast media for opaque exams using sterile of biomedical waste using CDC and OSHA daily worksheet for assigned orderliness and cleanliness of assigned radiographic/fluoroscopic/OR room when adequate room supplies s/respiratory and suction follow all Federal State and hospital health safety codes especially in reference to Radiation electrical and mechanical explanation of test to patient. Obtains signature on consent to use a particulate respirator (mask) when exposed to patients with suspected of known and incorporate the Hospital and Department Mission Statements in daily work activities as well as QA goals procedures and models.

Qualifications

Current NYS license/registration in Radiologic Technology Graduate of an approved school for Radiologic Technology. ARRT registered. Strong verbal communications and customer service orientation.
