Radiology Technologist (0.8 FTE)

Gillette Childrens is in search of a Radiologic Technologist to join our imaging team. Looking for a motivated independent responsible individual to work in our imaging department primarily at our St. Paul hospital location in the OR. Working hours/shifts may vary between the hours of 6:45am-7:15pm M-F with rotational call evenings weekends and holidays. Additional coverage in our general x-ray department as needed. This is a 0.8 FTE benefit eligible position.

TheRadiologicTechnologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging exams in compliance with departmental procedures and guidelines. TheRadiologistworks with patients of all ages cultures and physical conditions and provides efficient and effective customer service.

Specific duties aredeterminedby the work setting or patient population served; however in all positions serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. We organize care around each patients condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments toexhibitexceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently andadopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams.

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly wage for this opportunity is $31.36/hour to $45.44/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including number of hours worked within the field education and certification/licensure. Hourly pay just one part of the compensation package for employees. Primary Job Responsibilities

• Responds to physician orders for diagnostic imaging procedures by producing high quality images which meet the expectations of the ordering physicians and radiologists.
• Proficient and safe use of imaging equipment including:
• Radiographic
• C-arm O-arm
• Portable radiographic
• Fluoroscopic
• Proficient and safe use of ancillary equipment relevant to the modality including:
• Computed radiography
• Positioning devices
• Ceiling lift
• Imaging printers
• Digitizer
• PACS
• RIS
• Proficient in all exam types for the assigned modality.
• Radiographic: Skull Spine Chest Abdomen Pelvis Upper and Lower Extremity Intraoperative
• Fluoroscopic C-arm and O-arm

• Performs patient assessment of pain pregnancy ability to complete the exam
• Performs patient education concerning the procedure
• Documents patient history
• Properly positions the patient
• Selects the exam protocol
• Selects the equipment parameters/technical factors
• Discharges the patient with post procedure instructions
• Evaluates resulting images
• Accepts or rejects images appropriately

Qualifications

Required:

• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) candidate holds valid CPR for through another acceptable organization (asdeterminedby Gillette) candidate may be able to begin employment but must complete Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association within one month of employment.
• Certified and in good standing with the ARRTprior tostartdate.
• Experience working in a digital imaging environment.
