Job Summary
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering precise radiation treatments to patients primarily in Radiology and Cardiology settings. This role involves operating radiation therapy equipment ensuring patient safety and collaborating with medical professionals to develop and implement treatment plans. The therapist must maintain accurate records and uphold high standards of care and safety. A minimum of 2 years of experience and required certifications are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:- Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients according to prescribed protocols.
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust treatment plans.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor patient responses during treatment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed treatment records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and radiation protection standards.
- Utilize Epic electronic medical records system for documentation and communication.
- Active BLS certification.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiation Therapy.
- Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience.
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety and patient care protocols.
- Additional certifications or training related to radiology or cardiology therapies.
- Experience working in both radiology and cardiology departments.
- No weekend work required.
- No on-call or floating assignments.
- Strict adherence to radiation safety guidelines and protocols.
- Work schedule options include either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday.
- Shift times available: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
