Radiology Cardiology Radiation Therapist

The Radiation Therapist provides specialized radiation therapy treatment to patients in a clinical setting utilizing advanced technologies such as CT simulation IMRT and external beam therapy. This role involves delivering precise radiation doses patient positioning and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective cancer treatment. The therapist will float between two clinical sites working alongside other therapists and clinical staff without solo responsibilities for block cutting or dose calculations.

• Administer radiation therapy treatments using Varian linacs and CT simulators.
• Perform patient positioning and tumor localization using imaging techniques including CBCT kV/mV imaging and PET scans.
• Utilize treatment planning systems such as Pinnacle and Eclipse to support therapy delivery.
• Ensure radiation safety and adhere to isolation precautions.
• Collaborate with MDs RNs and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Float between two clinical sites to provide coverage as needed.
• Respond appropriately during rapid response or code team activations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and use ARIA system for treatment management.
• Assist with custom molds custom shields block cutting wedges and beam modifying/positioning as required.
• Participate in storm and hurricane team duties reporting to work during catastrophic events as required.

• Minimum of 2 years radiation therapy experience; clinic accepts first-time travelers.
• Proficiency in Adult Acute Care and radiation therapy technologies including CT simulation IMRT and external beam therapy.
• Experience with treatment planning systems Pinnacle (Philips) and Eclipse (Varian).
• Certification in BLS and ARRT.
• Knowledge of radiation safety and isolation precautions.
• Ability to operate Varian 21 ex/ix linacs and CT simulators.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Experience with PET scans tumor localization beam modifying/positioning block cutting wedges and dose calculation.
• Familiarity with ARIA software and Varian True Beam systems.
• Previous float experience between multiple clinical sites.

• Return to Office (RTO) after booking is not allowed onsite; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation.
• No on-call or weekend requirements.
• Floating between two clinical locations approximately 10 to 30 minutes apart is required.
• Therapists do not work alone; always paired with another therapist.
• Contract staff may be required to participate in storm/hurricane teams and report during catastrophic events or disasters.
• No orientation or dimensions training required; immediate clinic start.

• 40-hour workweek with shifts of either 5x8 hours (Monday to Friday typically 8:00 AM 5:00 PM or occasionally 9:00 AM 6:00 PM) or 4x10 hours with staggered start times (7:00 AM 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM 6:30 PM) depending on clinic needs.
• Shift schedules are manager-assigned and may vary based on department requirements.
